Scottish Fold Maru aka "box cat" - YouTube star!

Maru, a Scottish Fold cat in Japan, is a YouTube star. Some call him "box cat" because of his performance in a YouTube with a gazillion hits, well deserved. I just happened across a great compilation of Maru's antics from 2008, with the Human's comments included. Totally fun to watch this wonderfully silly kitty. These are snippets of longer Maru YouTubes, which you can find by going to mugumogu's Channel at YouTube. Cat blogging, negative feedback, and toilets

Apologies to all my regular and irregular readers. My cat blogging has been suffering because of my day job, which is overboard at this point. In trying to make up a final exam, I ACTUALLY found this question in an online test bank. Multiple Choice Question 1. Which of the following is most similar to the negative feedback mechanism in human physiology? A) A car runs out of gas and stops. B) A teacher marks all the wrong answers on students' exam papers. C) A toilet tank refills itself after a flush. D) An automatic door opens as soon as somebody approaches it. E) A clock ticks on a shelf. Hint:

British Shorthair- the cutest kitty ever?

Here's another great YT of joe joe, the British Shorthair kitty. Direct link is here Yes, I've posted this one (below) before, with a lot more information ( British Shorthair cats- a wonderful YouTube ), but I thought it would be fun to have them together. Direct link is here Is this the cutest kitty ever? More about the British Shorthair breed- This page describes the history of the British Shorthair, AND has great pictures from the incomparable Helmi Flick. This page has more. And this page I found particularly intriguing, because it weaves together the history of a nation and the history of a cat breed.

Classic YouTube- mama cat rescues kitten

I have oh so many YouTubes in my "kitteh library" that I haven't posted. Hundreds. I am thinking that this is the time to start pulling them out. Why? Image
Uh, well, I guess I haven't been keeping up! The Box Cat has a gazillion YouTube hits, for good reason. Direct link is here (2:06) Hmmmm... can you help diagnose "Box Cat"? According to the choices in the final illustrations, I'd say he is a "classic tabby", but alas that really doesn't help too much in explaining his behavior. lol. Here's a closer look at "Box Cat". Direct link is here (0:32) Diagnostics: L to R: Mackerel tabby- narrow dark striping around tail and legs, solid or broken stripes down sides and one or more necklaces on chest. Classic or blotched tabby- large "oysters" or blotches ending in circular pattern along the sides Spotted tabby- smaller dark patches formed into oval or round shape.

Box cat- In case you missed this one!

My friend Punaise sent me this a while back, which was posted by watertiger at her site Dependable Renegade And, now I see why watertiger titled the post "Box cat is back at it"! Direct link is here (0:29)

November Gets on the Treadmill

November Gets on the Treadmill is one of the first best kitteh videos I found at YouTube, maybe 2 years ago. It's still a classic! The sound track is from The Karate Kid . And, here's another great YouTube, from the movie. Joe Esposito - You're the Best Around Oh, and, BTW, the "Karate Kid" is Ralph Macchio. He's also Billy Gambini, one of the "two yutes" defended by his cousin Vincent LaGuardia Gambini, in My Cousin Vinny . The Toobz just go every where, don't they?
