Kitten plays peekaboo in cute video

Image
Playing peekaboo, in a cute kitten video which is in line with the objectives of this website which is owned and run by Valley Girl! Well, it was :) . This is a cute little video which may well disappear fairly quickly. The lifespan of videos on the internet is not awful long. If this one has gone wrong, please accept my apologies. This cute kitten is enjoying the play session.

Kitten is aggressively possessive over his pink pig

Image
This little fella loves his pink pig. He becomes very aggressively possessive when his human guardian delicately tries to take it from him. I can understand. I guess he regards his human 'owner' as another cat who is trying to take it from him. It is his plaything. It brings him pleasure and as such he refuses to give it up. This sort of possessiveness occurs often with food bowls. You'll see cats arguing over access to food in multi-cat homes. These are circumstances under which bullying cats can dominant the more timid cats in the home. In fact you'll see cats arguing with the owner if they like the food in a bowl and the owner wants to move it. They think the owner is taking the food from them and hiss and growl. It is not a good experience for the owner who loves her cat and is doing the best they can for her feline friend. Kitten is aggressively possessive over his pink pig. Bengal cat mom and kittens on the treadmill

Image
This is a cute mini-video of a Bengal cat mom and her two kittens doing a daily workout on a feline treadmill. It is good to see. I love to see cats exercising. Treadmills are still fairly rare in homes perhaps because cat owners are unsure if their cat will use it.  How many cat products bought with great passion and love are discarded because the cat can see no use in it? A lot I suspect. But one of the great problems in the way of life of indoor domestic cats is getting enough to do. There aren't enough challenges. Cats are fed and pampered. There is no need for them to exercise their hunting skills and their brains.  Result? Boredom and sometimes obesity to the detriment of their overall health and welfare. Cats need to challenged just like humans. Note: this video is likely to stop working at some time in the future as it appears to be in possible breach of copyright. If it does fail I am sorry but I have no control over it. A car (not a typo!) needs to be used to keep ...

How to wind up and calm down a kitten!

Image
The video is called "How to calm down a kitteh!". I think it should be called, "How to wind up and calm down a kitten"! The owner drives this sweet little black kitten to distraction with his play. It's quite easy to get a kitten wound up like this when playing because they love to play. As you can see the kitten bites and scratches the man's hand. The experts say that you should not use your hands as a cat play toy. It's a bad habit because the kitten or adult cat get used to that piece of your anatomy as a toy and it can be hard to remove the habit. But this is not a major criticism; just an observation. And then the man says that it's time to stop because his hand and forearm is mangled! And so he pushes his thumb against the kitten's forehead. This is just gentle stroking which helps to calm his kitten down and in any case the kitten is probably exhausted judging by the amount of vigourous play that he has been involved in. Are human moms as tolerant with the kids as cat moms?

Image
This mother cat reminds me of human mothers in supermarkets. In supermarkets where you sometimes find mothers with three or four kids (and a fifth child in a pram), the mother appears to completely switch off. She becomes temporarily deaf and blind. Her kids run amok creating mayhem for others and irritating them while she carries on as normal. This is the way human mothers cope with noisy and boisterous kids. It's a switch off.  It seems to me that the same mentality and approach occurs in domestic cats. Although my impression is that domestic cat mothers are, in general, better than human mothers and that what you see in the video is a genuine tolerance and acceptance of their kittens' behaviour. There are many stories of mother cats saving kittens from dire situations such as fires. They will go to the ends of the world to save their kittens and risk their lives in doing so. I can recall one such example in which a mother cat went into a fire to save her five kittens. She...
