This looks amazing. An 8-week-old male kitten called Finn carries an unrelated newborn kitten in his mouth just like mother and carries the kitten to a softer more pleasant area. Who said male cats don't get involved in raising young? And the kitten is unrelated as mentioned. So young and male to be behaving like an adult mother seems very strange but loving to me. Although it is interesting to see that he gets the method slightly wrong. He has his teeth in the side of the neck of the newborn when he should be carrying the kitten by the scruff of the neck. That's just about a lack of experience, I guess. I wonder what Finn will be like when he grows up. He must have observed his mom who is also in the video and acts as a surrogate to rescued kittens. The video maker, who I guess is in cat rescue, says that the adult female is a very motherly mother. This is a cute mini-video of a Bengal cat mom and her two kittens doing a daily workout on a feline treadmill. It is good to see. I love to see cats exercising. Treadmills are still fairly rare in homes perhaps because cat owners are unsure if their cat will use it.  How many cat products bought with great passion and love are discarded because the cat can see no use in it? A lot I suspect. But one of the great problems in the way of life of indoor domestic cats is getting enough to do. There aren't enough challenges. Cats are fed and pampered. There is no need for them to exercise their hunting skills and their brains.  Result? Boredom and sometimes obesity to the detriment of their overall health and welfare.   This mother cat reminds me of human mothers in supermarkets. In supermarkets where you sometimes find mothers with three or four kids (and a fifth child in a pram), the mother appears to completely switch off. She becomes temporarily deaf and blind. Her kids run amok creating mayhem for others and irritating them while she carries on as normal. This is the way human mothers cope with noisy and boisterous kids. It's a switch off.  It seems to me that the same mentality and approach occurs in domestic cats. Although my impression is that domestic cat mothers are, in general, better than human mothers and that what you see in the video is a genuine tolerance and acceptance of their kittens' behaviour. I think we are in Turkey in this video and you are looking at a litter of hyperactive kittens who were rescued with their mother who had a leg injury. They were being fostered by a lady but she decided she couldn't manage it because of an injury to herself and therefore they have ended up in this home. It is the home of the father of the person who made the video. That's pretty well all I know except that they were looking for adopters as at August 2019. I expect that the kittens have been adopted by now. They were going to make sure that the kids were fully weaned before they were adopted out. What I mean is the duration of the video at 17 seconds in relation to the number of visits at over 54 million at the date of this post! Wow. Maybe we should do a survey. I would expect this video to win. To get over one million hits is very rare but 54 million is astonishing. In fact to get 5,000 views is very good. Most videos receive views in the hundreds. I wonder what is going on? The kitten mimics the hand of the person. This in fact is not uncommon and probably common sense. Kittens learn from their mothers and close family members. They learn by watching and copying. Obviously this mainly concerns hunting skills. In this case the kitten is just plain copying despite no benefit. And the mother is a human.
