This little video should make you smile and even laugh. It was captured in Russia and it appears that there are a couple of guys on their bikes. Nearby, a cat is chasing a mouse. The mouse sees an opportunity to escape by clambering onto one of their bikes. They are amused. The mouse remains on the frame of the bike and the other guy videos it. The cat looks nonplussed because she has lost her mouse. They cycle off while continuing to film. It's the most novel way that I have seen for a mouse to escape a cat. Playing peekaboo, in a cute kitten video which is in line with the objectives of this website which is owned and run by Valley Girl! Well, it was :) . This is a cute little video which may well disappear fairly quickly. The lifespan of videos on the internet is not awful long. If this one has gone wrong, please accept my apologies. This cute kitten is enjoying the play session. 

No, domestic or feral cats do not abandon their pre-weaned kittens if you touch them. Although they will probably become anxious . A feral cat mother might move her kittens to a new den if you touch them. A domestic cat, in a nice warm home, might become anxious if you touch kittens. It is best to leave them alone but watch. Noise and activities near them might also make them anxious. They need quiet dens. Yes, newborn kittens do not have teeth but rarely they might have. However, I think that you will see cat breeders touching newborn and young kittens quite often in order to check for their health. The mother probably finds this acceptable because she will be a full-time breeding mother and used to the whole process. On a grizzly note, I feel too that some breeders will kill newborn kittens if they are not up to scratch on appearance. Appearance is all for breeders....

I guess the Syrian war is over but the devestation is immense not only for people but for companion animals as well and the infastructure. I have always felt that we need to write more about the cats and dogs (and other animals) in these war zones.  The news media always focuses on humans, quite naturally, but behind that front there are tens of thousands of companion animals and stray cats and dogs who are suffering tremendously. We need to mention them. We need to recognise their existence. This sanctuary does just that.  And apparently there are 1000 cats at it. It's a remarkable effort. They need to be recognised and praised which is the purpose of this short article. The video explains it all and therefore I won't go over it in words. But let's remember the animals of war. Both the first filial Savannah cat and the large dog in this video are playing very gently with each other. They clearly like each other a lot. It is particularly nice when such an intelligent and energetic cat such as a first filial Savannah cat play so gently like this with an animal of another species. It is not, however, surprising to see them get along because no doubt at this breeder's facility, there are lots of cats, there are people and there may be more than one dog. All this goes to excellent socialisation of the cats.  The video is from the Instagram page of F1Savannahs who appear to have facilities in Los Angeles, California and Miami, Florida. They breed amazing quality, in terms of appearance (and it seems health), high filial Savannah and Bengal cats. They say that you should be "careful of any breeder selling you a kitten neutered before 6 months". They don't explain why.  This is a funny cat video from the TikTok website. The video is on a loop which gives the impression that this cat is endlessly playing with his stainless steel food bowl in a sign of sheer desperation. However, I'm sure that he plays with it for quite a short time. The rattling of it and the static nature of the cat all adds up to make the video slightly strange and amusing. But perhaps there is a serious side to this feline behaviour. I can't help but think that this chap is bored. Bored to tears with a dull life.
