I felt a little silly that I first ...</title><content type='html'>Hi Shakatany-&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I felt a little silly that I first took what I'd first read at face value- that there was only one Orangey!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then I got to reading what news articles I could (via Nexis Lexis) and found a comment to the effect that "it was an open secret in Hollywood that there were ten different Lassies".  Du'oh! Don't know if these doubled for each other or were in succession.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Still, my new found knowledge won't interfere with my enjoyment of watching the cats- "willing suspension of disbelief" and all that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Orangey didn't do anything that cat's don't do- I guess the problem is getting them to do "whatever" on cue.  They have their moods!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And, I remember that ages ago you first told me about the Rhubarb movie- the cat who inherits a baseball team. Being cats t...</title><content type='html'>That's the problem with cat "actors". Being cats they are not as trainable as dogs (hence the one Benji until the original grew too old). I guess that's why there are far more canine actors than feline. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Too bad current trainers don't have cat doubles. That's probably why Data's Spot (on ST:TNG) was played by an Abyssinian and a marmalade cat. Something happened with the first cat and they had to find a replacement which wasn't identical to the first.
